From Delivery to Standing Structure: The Quinn Kit Erected in 5 Days

Building a home is a big investment, and the longer it takes, the more it costs. Every extra day a construction loan sits open adds interest to the final price. That is why speed and efficiency matter just as much as design. With a My Barndo Plans kit, homeowners can move from delivery to a standing structure in a matter of days. Our recent project in Lowell, Michigan, with the Quinn plan proves it — walls, roof, and interior framing were complete in only five days on site.

Building a home should be straightforward. Faster builds save money because construction loan interest accrues daily. With a My Barndo Plans kit you can move from delivery to a full standing structure in days, not months. The Quinn project below shows the pace and predictability you can expect.

The Crew and Equipment

The crew ranged from three to six people per day. Two crew members had SIPs experience. The rest were trained on site while the build moved forward. SIPs are precise and repeatable, which makes on-the-job training practical. A telehandler and a scissor lift were essential for setting larger wall and roof panels.

The Timeline

3.5 days of actual build time to erect the SIPs shell and frame the interior. With one weather delay and a lumber delivery delay, the total time on site was five days. At the end of day five the walls and roof were up, interior framing was complete, and the home was ready for porches, overhangs, windows, and doors.

Why SIPs Matter

  • Speed: Panels arrive ready to assemble, which compresses the schedule.
  • Energy performance: The Quinn should meet Energy Star requirements when complete, which means lower utility bills for years.
  • Cost control: Faster builds reduce the cost of construction financing because interest accrues daily.
  • Quality: Tight envelope and straight lines from the first panel.

Ready to Build Smarter

The Quinn kit shows what a well-engineered SIPs package can do. From delivery to a full standing structure in five days, even with delays. If you want a faster, cleaner build that saves money on interest and energy, a My Barndo Plans kit is the right move.
