Draftsman / Designer – Residential Construction
Location: Remote (preferred candidates in Michigan, Tennessee, or Texas, but will consider anywhere in the USA).
Reports To: Lead Architect
About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Draftsman (or Draftswoman) to join our team and support residential construction projects. This role serves as a key liaison between our architecture team and our clients, with occasional coordination with engineering partners. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to translate architectural concepts into clear, accurate drawings and communications.
We are open to candidates with a background as a draftsman, residential designer, or even an executive assistant who has hands-on experience in construction, design, or architectural coordination.
Key Responsibilities

Work closely with the architecture team to prepare and revise residential construction drawings and documentation.

Serve as a point of contact for clients, helping to clarify design intent and project details.

Coordinate with engineers when required to ensure drawings meet structural and code requirements.

Organize and maintain project documentation, drawings, and revisions.

Assist in client presentations, plan modifications, and design updates.

Provide support in tracking project progress and ensuring deliverables are met on time.
Qualifications

Experience in residential drafting, design, or related construction fields.

Proficiency with drafting software (AutoCAD, Revit, or similar) preferred.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects.

Excellent communication skills, comfortable working with both technical teams and clients.

Ability to learn quickly and adapt to different types of residential construction projects.

Executive assistant or project coordination experience in a construction/design firm will be considered.
