All Black Barndominium The Travis Built in Kansas
The Travis Barndominium Goes Up in Kansas
When we designed the Travis Barndominium, we built it to make a statement. Wide spans, clean lines, strong geometry, and a floor plan that gives families the space they need without wasting a square foot. Our Kansas client wanted exactly that. A home that feels solid, simple, and straight to the point. This Red Iron build checks every box. (photos at bottom)

Our team just finished erecting the shell. The interior work has not started yet, but the bones of the home are in place, and the structure already looks impressive against the Kansas landscape.

A Red Iron Build Built for Strength
This Travis Barndominium is framed with heavy Red Iron steel. The exterior is wrapped in 26-gauge PBR metal siding with a matching 26-gauge metal roof. Everything is finished in black. Black siding. Black roof. Black trim. Clean. Modern. Zero distractions.
The porches are supported by solid wood beams that add contrast and warmth to the all-black exterior. That combination gives the whole project a high-end look without overcomplicating the design.
About the Travis Floor Plan
The Travis is a single-level plan featuring a smart layout centered on a large open living space. The home includes three bedrooms, two full bathrooms, and one half bath. It has a dedicated office, a flex room, and a large pantry beside the kitchen. The three-car garage stretches over forty-eight feet and gives plenty of room for full-size trucks and additional storage.
The porch system is one of the standout features of this plan. The front porch spans fifty feet. The rear porch stretches over seventy-two feet. Both give the homeowner plenty of space for outdoor living and entertaining.
Erecting the Shell in Kansas
The shell erection should have taken twenty-seven days. Weather delays and a siding takeoff issue slowed the project down, but the team stayed on it until the shell was complete. Once the steel went up and the roof sheeting started to go on, the shape of the home came together fast.
From the inside, the clear-span Red Iron frame creates a large, open living area with tall ceilings and long sight lines. The steel framing is clean and precise. The result is a strong, durable structure that will last for generations.
Kansas Needs Homes Built Like This
Kansas weather is unpredictable. A Red Iron barndominium with 26 gauge metal and a simple roofline is a smart answer. Strong. Fast to erect. Clean to maintain. And engineered to meet local codes and live year-round comfortably.
The interior work will start soon. Once that begins, this Travis Barndominium is going to shine.
